  1. It was a Thursday, which meant is was league night, a 9 hole evening I look forward to every week, but this one was different. The swing was feeling good: weight transfer was great, hips were loose, vibes were high, and wedges (especially) were dialed. I walked up to the tee box on number 5 (my 3rd hole of the night), checked the distance, grabbed my 52 degree and thought "playing 117, I should use a ProV1x." Teed it up, exhaled sharply and let it rip. The moment after I made contact, as so many golfers (including myself) have before, I uttered to my partner "Jared, that might be in the hole." And I watched climb, on a line right over the pin. Then I heard it "plunk" and looking at the green, I thought I saw my ball plugged into the prominent downslope on the green I had planned to use as a backstop so Titleist 3 could trickle ever closer to its inevitable home. "Did that plug?!?!" I asked, outraged? "That's ridiculous, I think it's plugged in the backstop. That's going to make for a miserable putt." Frustration continued to pour out as my partner and I drove from the tee box to the green, but when we arrived...where was my ball? I swore I saw it on the green, plugged. Had I made a mistake? it was dusk...maybe my eyes played a trick on me? "This is crazy, man, I must have left it short" I said to Jared as I walked off the front of the green toward the rough. That's when Jared decided to walk to the pin, peered in, and with a quick turn and exuberance in his eyes he said "duuude..." I replied "stop it." "duuuuuude" he said again. "NO WAY!" I shouted back. "DUDE!!!!!" he exclaimed a third time and I ran to the hole to see my ball, my beautiful beautiful ProV1x 3 sitting in the bottom of the cup under a Massive ball shaped divot right on the back edge of the hole! With a flood of adrenaline and a ton of disbelief I let out and animalistic howl, a belly laugh and series of explative expressions that are still echoing over the St. Louis skies as I write this recap. What a feeling, what a day, what a shot!!!! Thank you!
