    Hole-in-One at St Michael’s – 40 Years Later!

It was a calm day, and I hit a perfect long shot — slightly elevated. The ball landed about two meters onto the green, rolled up another two meters... and straight into the hole!

At first, I wasn’t sure if it had disappeared behind the flag. I thought it might be hidden just behind it, but the lads were fairly confident it had dropped in.

Halfway up the fairway, I could see there was nothing behind the flag — happy days! She was in the hole!

I repaired my pitch mark like a proud gardener, picked the ball out of the cup, and did a little celebratory dance!

I was playing with Conor, Fish, and Bren — none of whom had ever seen a hole-in-one before. That made it even more special.

This happened at St Michael’s, and funnily enough, my last hole-in-one was 40 years ago back in Ireland, when I was 28. I’m now 68, living in Australia and still belting in hole-in-ones

It must be my new swing! Just six weeks ago, I got my first ever eagle with the same club, on the 5th hole (a par 4) at The Coast Golf Club next door.
