It was 'Merica' night in our Thursday Night Couples League. It tends to be a bit chaotic to start and our shotgun starting hole was Par 3 #9 and we were in a six person group. With no practice and maybe one practice swing, I launched my Pro V1 with my 7-wood toward the green 125 yards away. We were looking directly into the evening sun and the front of the elevated green was guarded by a high lip bunker, so you couldn't see the hole from the tee box. It was a beautiful high shot that my husband thought went right at the pin. As we made our way to the green, we didn't see it in the front or back bunker and nothing on the green. My husband had a hunch, I was skeptical, and walked right to the hole and raised his arms! Ball mark was about 8 ft short of the pin. My first hole-in-one. Thank god for our club hole-in-one club or I would have been personally paying for the drinks for over 20 couples! Our group did our own celebratory shot.
