On hole 16, a par 3 at Smuggler's Glen in Lansdowne, Ontario, I stepped up to the tee box with 2 wedges in hand (AW and SW). My range finder showed 111.8 yards to the pin. We had a head wind most of the afternoon so I decided to go with my AW. As I looked down at my ball I reflected back to hole 10 where I had similar yardage but went with my SW and came up just short of the green. I felt a surge of confidence as I swing the club. The balls flight path was sky scrapper high on a perfect line to the pin. I held held my breath chanting be the club. The ball landed on the green one hoped and disappeared. I was confused and the 3 other golfers in my group started yelling. I started yelling in disbelief and started to doubt that the ball actually went in. One of the ladies on tee box 17, came into view and asked if she wanted her to confirm the ball was in the cup. We all shouted yes, she ran over looked in the hole and gave us the thumbs up!
