To experience a hole in one is something to behold. We teed off on the 16th hole at our local club, Llanishen golf club due to the 1st & 10th tee being very busy. I hadn't hit a ball in nearly 3 weeks due to a family holiday. It was 152 yards to the pin and I selected an 8 iron. I hit the best shots I could ask for, the flight was dead straight and the shot looked good all the way. The ball pitched 20 foot from the pin and rolled like butter towards the hole before disappearing. I couldn't contain my excitement as I ran towards the green and my excitement was confirmed to see the ball firmly at the bottom of the cup. Myself and playing partner jumped up and down on the green like kids. I'd like to say the reat of the round was good but i only managed to stay under par for a further 6 holes. The rest of the round didn't matter as i was still basking in the glory of a hole in one. After the round I bought a bottle of whisky to share with other members in the bar and we had a great evening celebrating. Hopefully there will be more to come and I don't have to wait another 25 years for one!
