I've been playing golf for over 60 years, and though I have come pretty close (within a foot) to holing out nearly a dozen times, I finally dropped one into the cup on Hole #9 this past Friday (9/5/2025) at Dennis Highlands Golf Course in Dennis, Massachusetts. I have dreamed about a hole in one like all golfers do. It was as exciting and shocking as I thought it would be. The young man in the photo was sitting in his motorized wheelchair behind the tee box. He had driven to this spot from his home a mile or so away. I've played this course many time since becoming a member 17 years ago, but had never seen Alex before. We had greeted each other just before I stepped up to the tee. He wished me luck. Moments later, I hit my 8 iron and watched as the ball bounced three times and dropped out of sight into the cup. My first hole in one!!
