I am not a great, or even good, golfer. Totally inconsistent. Can have a birdie or a par, and then 3 straight triple bogies, or worse. And with age my vision has worsened, so after 150 or so yards, I can't even see where the ball lands. Was playing a par 3 hole, about 146 yards, which has historically been my nemesis, with multiple lost balls into the woods over the years. On this day, hit a really nice iron, and as it flew high and straight I thought, "This looks good". It landed on the ground and began to roll towards the flag, and I thought, " This looks really good". And then the ball disappeared.... My first thought was "Oh no, did it roll past and over the green, and I lost it with my vision", or "Did that actually go in the hole?" All the way to the green I wasn't sure which was true. Literally had to walk up to the flag and see the ball in the hole before I could jump for joy. For a 25+ handicap, there are very few moments of glory, but this is mine!
