Today on March 22, 2026 I made my first hole in one on #5 at island pointe golf club just outside of Knoxville Tennessee. My girlfriend and I went down to celebrate my 25th birthday and caught a Tennessee baseball game on Saturday. This morning we woke up bright and early to take the 30 minute drive to island pointe golf club to enjoy a round with each other and some close friends. No warm up or expectations just wanted to enjoy a round of golf at a beautiful course on my birthday. The day started out about how I would expect with a couple big scores and bad strikes. That is until we get to hole #5. Me and my buddy had some friendly banter going on and as we come off hole #4 he mentions how we are tied and I jokingly said “we won’t be tied for long after I make this hole in one”. We get to #5 tee box which a beautiful 153 yard par 3 sitting right beside the French Broad river. Water short and left so it wasn’t the most inviting tee shot in the world. My buddy tees off first and puts one short in the water, I go through a normal swing routine and decided to try to draw one into the pin with my Titleist T-200(2019 model) 9 iron. I finally hit the first clean shot of the day and it’s heading towards the center and the green with a slight draw towards the pin just like I had wanted it to, which rarely happens might I add. The ball lands roughly 15 feet from the pin and starts to track right at it. At this point I can feel my heart rate start to jump, it tracks to the pin and drips in on the right edge of the hole for my first hole in one. We instantly drive up to check and make sure our eyes didn’t deceive us, as we get closer there’s not ball to be seen. We walk to the hole and my Titleist AVX #1 is in the bottom of the cup and the celebration begins. What an amazing experience on an incredible course with the best company a man could ask for on his 25th birthday!
