Hole in One – Royal North Devon Golf Club 24th June 2026 will be a day I'll never forget.

Playing the 8th hole at Royal North Devon, a par 3 measuring 160 yards to the pin, both of my playing partners had already hit excellent shots inside 20 feet. Standing on the tee, I went with a 9-iron and struck what felt like a great shot from the moment it left the clubface.

As the ball flew towards the green, I couldn't help but shout, "Get in the hole!" It landed perfectly, took a couple of bounces, checked slightly, and then tracked straight towards the flag. It struck the pin dead centre and disappeared into the hole.

What made the achievement even more special was that it happened while celebrating my playing partner's 40th birthday, surrounded by good friends on the oldest golf course in the country.
