Tough day for Justin Thomas. I thought he had it made, when he made that 50 footer in the playoff. Then when Morikawa made the 20 footer downhill to answer him, it may have deflated JT a little. Onward to next week.

Yeh he just wasn’t himself on the last round........
  3. I look at it as he didn’t lose it, the best player that day won it.

Actually, the best player that day finished T27. Jon Rahm shot 8 under to Collin's 6 under day. Agree to your point that JT was still 3 under on a difficult golf course so he shouldn't feel like he threw it away. Collin's 6 under was third best of the day but every stroke counts in a four day tournament... Okay, not those couple of match play events or stableford scoring but you get the point. It's funny how the momentum of the round makes it seem bad for JT. If he had all his bogeys on the front and came charging back to tie and then lost in the playoff it would have been the same end result but he would feel pretty good. Having a 3 stroke lead with 3 to play and not getting the win is what will bug him the most. They just have to remember that 100+ tee it up each week and only 1 can win. Not very good odds that you will win every week. MLB considers a great hitter someone that bats .300. That's .700 outs per their lifetime. A great golfer might get 20 career wins out of maybe 500+ tournaments played. It's all about perspective. Okay, enough of my rambling...

It was a tough loss for Justin. To have a chance after Saturday and part of Sunday he played well to get where he was.

I love his post round honesty with the media. He knows he is better than that. Love JT!

Everyone gets their time in the barrel. JT will recover, maybe as soon as this week.

He will bounce back, he's playing like #1 in the world lately. Looking for a few more good finishes from him the rest of this season!

Did anyone notice that JT missed his last 3 tee shots to the right. #18 in regulation and then the 2 playoff holes (#18 and #10). Something obviously was off in his swing.

The 50 ft putt he made in the playoff was incredible though!!

Interesting lesson here (stated by Dale). 3 stroke lead with 3 to play and lose.
You have to be mentally tough to put that out of your mind.

I have been following Morikawa since the tour started back and he has been continually playing well.. This does not surprise me he was in contention going into this tournament and especially the last round

Yep Jerry, thank Jack for all those misses right. During the broadcast there were tons of guys in or around those right hand bunkers. The fact that it is a dogleg right and the trees block your visual to the super narrow landing area make it tough. Add the creek down the left side that guarantees a bogey and it makes sense that so many would end up down the right side. Ultimate risk and reward. Good job Mr. Nicklaus.

Short and sweet. You have to close to win.
  15. It just wasn't meant to be for JT on Sunday. After making a 50 foot birdie, it gets covered up. Then his drive ebd up stymied be a small tree.
