I saw a picture of Charles Howell III at The Sentry last week and he's now playing pxg. I guess nothing lasts forever.

Ugh, ugliest clubs in golf. Dont know why anyone would play those.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Results are what counts, regardless of the brand. Me, I am a Titleist loyalist, so if Titleist made clubs that looked like that I would play them.

Usually on tour money has something to do with what you play...

Well, there is now some interesting pricing strategies with a new line of clubs. So it may make or break the company or upset the market pricing strategies.

Won't affect my bag but as long as I'm stuck at home, I read too much industry news. Living for 1/26-1/29 for new products announcements from the virtual PGA Show. Then die a slow death in February and March waiting for the frozen tundra to thaw.

I could be wrong, but I don't recall any of their Staff Pros winning any tournaments.

On tour, it’s often all about the money and sponsorship. Our club had a P*G fitting day and a few guys made the switch. Most have since moved away. The pricing model is not sustainable in my opinion. If you want an indication of the quality of a club, look at the players who game it WITHOUT being paid! The TSI debut and it’s success on tour speaks for itself!!

Welp, it is what it is, at times people will do what is better for their bottom line, the mighty dollar is a powerful motivation.

    Hey guys,

It could have been an old photo as Charles is still a full line player on our staff:

The picture I saw was CH3 with a pxg hat on and that's what caught my attention.

    Charles Howell III:

    $40,307,694

    CAREER EARNINGS

I believe he can play whatever he wants as a few extra $$ really doesn't move his bottom line...

Here is what Howell has in the bag this week’s Sony Open in Hawaii.

Driver: Titleist TSI3 (10 degrees, A1 SureFit setting)
Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Black 6 X

    3-wood: png G425 LST (14.5 degrees)
Shaft: Fujikura Atmos Black Tour Spec 8 X

    7-wood: png G410 (20.5 degrees @20)
Shaft: Fujikura Atmos Black Tour Spec 9 X

    Irons: Titleist T100 (4-6) 620 MB (7-9)
Shafts: Project X LZ 6.5 (hard stepped)

    Wedges: Titleist Vokey Design SM8 (48-10F @47, 52-12F, 56-08M, 60-08M)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400

    Putter: Scotty Cameron 009M

    Ball: Titleist Pro V1

Grips: Golf Pride Tour Velvet Align

If he sticks with Titleist, I stick with Titleist. He loves to tinker around with clubs more than anyone on tour. As you have said above, he has been on tour for so long that if he wanted to make a switch, he could make it anytime.

The interesting discussion here would be what the competition TM does to attract top players such as TW and RM. That's when money talks :(

I believe Chucky Triple Sticks (CH3) moved away from PXG and back to Titleist a few years back. The man is a cut making machine!
