Although I was rooting for Cam, Tony went against all odds and rightfully won The Northern Trust at Liberty National. He shot 65 on Sunday and with this he may as well guarantee his spot on the Ryder Cup player's list.

What are your thoughts on the US Ryder Cup Team List?

Will Tony make the list after this win?

Good win for Tony... He is well liked amongst his peers and I hope he gets a serious look... And, length never hurts!

Good for Tony. I like him. Came up thru the ranks the old school way. Not a college star, but grinded his way up. He sure deserves a berth on the Ryder Cup.

I believe he's currently in the sixth auto-pick slot, but it's still a close race. Either way, automatic qualifier or captain's pick, he'd be a great teammate!

Maybe not a popular opinion but seems to me, the best Ryder Cup players over the years are those that putt well, especially under pressure. I love Tony but his putting on Sundays has been a problem for a while now. The team that wins is the team that makes the putts. Regardless of how this year's ends, it will be fun to watch.

With all due respect, Tony's putting didn't seem to be a problem this Sunday, or should I say the 4th round, being that it was played on Monday. And may I also add that this was not some ho-hum tournament, but the FedEx Cup Playoffs against the best on the PGA Tour.

Dale is pretty spot on in his assessment. He ranks 99th this year in strokes gained putting, and 64th in total putting. Some how with those stats though he is 13th in putting avg at 1.725 per green. I think Tony Finau is awesome and will absolutely be on the team and probably win a couple points. Regardless the way to winning the Ryder Cup is putting.

Frank, I love Tony and I hope that part of his game continues to get better. He may have benefitted from the Monday round having no spectators to add to the pressure. He is just one player and the question was more about the entire Ryder Cup team. If it is comprised with the guys that played the most consistent tournament golf for the past 2 years, it does not always equate to the best match play guys, especially if putting is not one of their strengths. There have been a few exceptions, Lanny Watkins comes to mind. He was a killer in match play but not a great putter. He could however, dial up his iron game under pressure and knock down flagsticks when the heat was on. I am not really too hung up on which guys are in or out, just looking forward to watching some good matches and hopefully a win for the USA.

What I found most impressive about Tony's putting was his level of confidence. He holed a 6-footer putt on the 72nd hole to have an opportunity to join/force a playoff. He has really stepped up in the only area of his game that was missing something.

Tony could be an asset to the RC team. Interesting to see how the team fills out and nice to see Tony win on Sunday. A well liked pro with a great demeanor.

It seems that the Ryder Cup is a long way but it is actually around the corner.

    I just checked the rankings:

    Collin
    DJ
    Bryson
    Brooks
    JT

    Tony :)
    Xander
    Jordan
    ...

As much as I would like to see Phil, I do not think he will make it :(

Who else do you think will make the Ryder Cup team?
