    I have a Newport 2 at 34" with an oversize Matador grip and swing weight of D4.

    I want to put a Super Stroke 3.0 grip on which weighs 55 grams. How much will this change SW? Does it even matter since swing weight is just a balance point?

    I don't know how much the oversize Matador grip weighs, I am guessing around 90 grams. Will the feel be effected much with the change? I assume more head heavy?

    An oversize Matador grip weighs 58 grams so it's close to your Superstroke.
    Remember that every 5 grams = 1 swing weight change.

    The Matador Oversize XL grip is about 66 grams, the Super Stroke is about 55 grams...thus the head will feel heavier since you are increasing the swingweight by going to a lighter grip.

    It is my experience that most players prefer a heavier swingweight so this may work for you.

    I just got my new Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Select 35", well at least the 2015 model which is new for me. According to my fitter, when he put on the Winn MS grip 45 grm my swing weight went to D7. Have them weight the Matador and the Super Stroke where you are purchasing it. Based on feed back from this same question in the past the midsize Matador is 85 grams, if that will help, which I have on my other Scotty.

    Hi Thomas,

    The Matador oversize grip weighs 65 grams, and as a general rule 5 grams of weight in the grip changes the swing weight by one point.
