  1. I've been missing some putts with my SS Newport 2 for a while and bought a 5MB to try out a mid mallet. Made just about every putt that should go in.. meaning from about 5-6 feet and in but just doesn't fit my eye so I kept going back to my blade. Plus I couldn't game my headcovers that i've bought over the years. Then I bought the Select Squareback this past Saturday and love the way it feels and looks. Played yesterday and made 4 birdies and saved a lot of pars. So this is just a FYI if you're in the same boat as me.. Love the blade and can't part from it but the a bigger putter fits your game nowadays but the bigger putter just doesn't fit your eye OR you want to use the blade Scotty headcovers you've collected.. The squareback will fit in the blade headcover but it's a little tight..

  2. Sounds like you found a winner! Congrats!!

By the way, on my squareback a blade cover is what i use...the tight fit is normal...even tour pros do the same thing.

    Cheers!

  3. Thanks.. It's a great putter. I think more guys would benefit from trying it out.

It’s a beautiful putter and feels awesome. More I putt the more I love it.

I actually just had a putter fitting today, this was the stick we went with. Based on my toe flow I sat pretty much right between a blade and a mallet as far as how much toe hang is ideal, my eye prefers the blade, so the Squareback fit the bill.

I learned a lot about my putting stroke, it was very helpful to have it visualized on charts, and the pro I worked with was also able to help me make some minor setup corrections to help square things up nicely. Can't wait to get the putter in hand and start making some putts, although I think I may send it off to NorCal Putters for some special treatment because treat yo' self.
  7. Snap! I love my squareback I've changed out the 10g for 20g weights such a great feel off the face.

I like the #2pilldrill using @thepillgolf to make sure I'm going through the ball with a square face.

I have tried the squareback and they have a nice set up. I currently play the notchback which I really like but have been tempted to get a squareback to add to my armory. They are very similar.
  10. Well I finally broke down and bought my first Scotty putter. It's a Select Squareback. My old putter was an Odyssey White Hot #2 (from the early 2000s) that had a ton of toe hang. The Squareback has the blade look that I like while having less toe hang and more forgiveness for a better roll. Now all I need is the time to try it on an actual green. But if it putts as well on grass as it did on the putting area at Golf Galaxy, I'll be golden from 10 ft. in. Now my bag is finally all Titleist. Fairways and greens to all.
