  1. Has anybody else who owns a Phantom X putter disappointed with how easily the paint chips? I purchased my putter in July of last year and I would not go back to a blade at this point. However, I posted on here last year that the top got nicked, and this year, I have noticed the paint has come off in two other places. I am not obsessive about keeping my clubs in good condition, but I do keep the headcover on whenever it is not being used and I hate when my clubs look less than new. Nail polish has adequately solved my original problem, as the nick on the top of the putter did distract me when putting, and these other infractions I can't see, but I am upset that my putter looks less than perfect.

Do not own one, but not a fan of the black SC putters. Bought a Select Newport 2 Notchback in black when they were first released a number of years ago. The blacking did not last long and looked very used within the year. Bought the chrome version the last year they made the notchback and love it. Love his putters, but for me not a fan of the blacks. Have heard others that say they love them. They may need special love and care.

I have a Futura 6M that is my Gamer and the Black is still in Showroom Condition.
Having a little TLC goes a long way!!!

  5. by any chance how good was the nail polish paint match to the original finish because I am having the same issue and looking to get something to paint the chips with.
  6. What color nail polish did you use.
  7. This has been a random and infrequent issue for decades with paint. You can easily touch it up using hobby paints...

I understand how frustrating this may be, but on the bright side you could also send it to the SC Custom Shop and have a whole new paint scheme completed if you like!

    IMHO
  8. This post is from a few years ago. I traded my 5.5 for a 5.0 the following season. I have gone back and forth between Phantoms and blades over the past few years. 2 years ago, my gamer was a Phantom 9.5. Last year I switched to a Super Select Squareback 2.0. Incidentally, I just purchased the 2024 Phantom 11.5 last Friday. We are back to a mallet again.
