    Greetings!

Anyone have any thoughts on the new Studio Style line that was recently released?

I have been looking at the Catalina but have not found much information (i.e. professional reviews, user reviews, etc.) since the release other than promotional info. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

They look great so I am curious to know the feedback has been.

    Thanks in advance!

I have one coming on Monday, so I could give feedback after it arrives.

Just showed up, going to take it out to the yard and test her out (as soon as I blow all the debris off my putting green).

Ok, so I’ve had a chance to play a couple rounds with the Catalina and I LOVE it. Great feel and I love the near minimum toe flow of it, really suits my stroke well.
  5. I hit it quite a bit yesterday. Interesting for sure. I will say that it feels different than a Newport. Feels smoother, not as much feedback as the NP. Felt more mallet like. Kinda of a solid thud.
  6. I have messed around with it more. Further observations. I found it to be more accurate than the NP. Certainly not as much feedback, nonetheless, felt really nice. I actually purchased one over the NP. It has enough feedback for my taste and found it spot on in terms of control and distance. Recommended.

Agreed, far more of a thud. Almost like odyssey insert less milled feeling to me. They have a bunch at the PGA store near me to try. They look amazing though!
  8. Agreed.

    What a looker! Absolutely beautiful.

I tried the np2.5 plus and the 2+. The Catalina is a different animal in terms of feel. I like it quite a bit. Definitely muted as compared to the np. However not dead. If you like a clicky putter, this isn’t it. Feels very solid.

In terms of size. It is a hair bit shorter than np2+. And when I say a hair, it is not enough to even worry about. Width wise, it is the same as the Np2+. Certainly wider than np/np+. Additionally it is more Rounded than the npxx. No sharp edges like the npxx. I would describe it as a chunky blade. But not as chunky as the Squareback.

Spot on in terms of control. I had to fight the np2.5+. Too much toe for me. I was ripping everything left. The Catalina is about as close to a point and shoot for a blade.

If you don’t need heavy toe, favor a straight back/forth stroke, this is a contender.

I’m a fanboy with a new one on the way.
  9. The Catalina is awesome. Much diff than the np in terms of build and feel. More rounded. Bit duller. It’s as wide as the np2+ but a tad shorter. It’s chunky if that makes sense.

Highly recommend given the min toe. I tried the np2.5+ for a few days and the toe was a struggle for my stroke. I was having to open the face to keep it from
Over rotating. No issues with the Catalina. Wind up and putt. No fidgeting with the face.

It doesn’t click like the np. Just a nice solid thud.

    Highly recommend.

I am currently gaming the Catalina. Went from a Spider tour x x3 to a TP Del Monte and then finally landed the good 'ol trusty Scotty. I did add some heavier weights. I play the 34" and that comes stock with the 15g weights, I went with 25g weights as it calms my hands down and I get a much smoother stroke. I do agree with what others have said "mallet like" feel and a solid "thud" at contact. Changed the grip as well to a Scotty custom shop mid paddle grip. Absolutely love it!
