    Need some opinions here!

Is it taboo to do custom paint fill on your SC putters that you DO NOT send into the SC Custom Shop?

Feel like it may go against the commandments but I also don't want to be without my putter for upwards of a month from drop off to delivery.

If its done right, doe the Scotty Cameron Community frown upon this?

Good question, it's your putter, your free to do what you want to it, however I don't think they'll accept it at the SC Custom Shop if you do customise it so please bear that in mind if you do want to consider repair, refurbishment or customisation in the future.

If you're looking to get a special headcover to match your new paintfill, a word of warning, there's a lot of fakes out there so check out the seller for authenticity!

Paint away. The cost and the turn around time is not worth sending it in unless you are having other things done to the putter.

In 1778 New Jersey officially became the 3rd state, and it's constitution specifically states that you are allowed to customize your SC putter any way you like.

I think the Cameron community generally takes no issue with DIY paintfills. In fact, there are places to look where people give pretty spot-on recipes to match some of the less available paintfill colours. As David said above - it's your putter!

If you do any painting, just know that if you want work done on the putter at the Custom Shop, you'll either need to strip the paint or agree to (and pay for) re-painting by the Custom Shop. The general Custom Shop policy is that they'll work on a putter that's been modified as long as they can reverse the modification (new grip, new paintfill etc.).

    Good luck and enjoy!
