I too am wondering when the 2015 bag lineup will be released.  If any Titleist bag engineers are reading this, here's how to make the best selling golf bag on the market...ready?

OK, for those of us who like to walk we need a lightweight bag - that's no surprise.  BUT, no matter who you are, if you're attending golf outings for business, playing in a scramble, or perhaps playing with someone who is older and can't walk 18 holes, you're going to need to ride in a cart.  So what do we need?

WE NEED A LIGHTWEIGHT CARRY BAG WITH THE FOLLOWING FEATURES:

    1. Strap Tunnel so that the cart straps don't cover our pocket zippers.

    2. Strap to attach to the cart basket (found on the back of the bag with the legs start); this would allow the bag to stay "in place" and not become ajar during the cart ride.

    3. A WATERPROOF (yes, waterproof) pocket.  Something so that if we get caught in the rain, we don't need to worry about our wallets or phones.  Again, not water resistant - it needs to be waterproof.

    4. Insulated beverage pockets are OK, but a zippered "cooler pocket" is awesome - having both features would be better.

    5. Detachable Straps Because when you have your bag on a cart, it's a PITA to keep pushing the straps out of the way.  Just let me detach them for the round and put them in the cart basket with my driver's headcover...

    6. Every bag should have these, but sadly, many Titleist bags don't -- please include a Pen / Pencil sleeve and a scorecard pocket, both strategically placed so that you can access them while walking.

    7.  Ball silo on the outside of the bag (see various Ogio bags)

    8. Tee holders on the outside of the bag

I know this is "pie-in-the-sky" wishing for a 3 or 4 pound bag with all of these features, but if you make it, people will buy it in droves.  I would also make a full waterproof version (like Stadry) and offer a 14-way club divider as an option.

And, Titleist, in the event you don't take me seriously, I live in the greater Boston area and would be happy to drive down to the South Coast to spend some (donated) time consulting on this...the gauntlet is thrown...

Tom, I am looking to purchase a new Titleist bag as well this off season. You are asking for a lot of stuff on the bag. I agree with the strap tunnel, and a waterproof pocket. But I don't want all kinds a gadgets on my bag. The club divider might be a good option.

I think you're missing the point of a " lightweight carry bag "....

On the contrary, if you consider the features I've listed, they really shouldn't add too much weight.  A cart strap tunnel could be as simple as two pieces of webbing attached near the top like on some of the sun mountain bags...tee holders, again, could be a piece of webbing...strategically placing the pockets near the top of the bag so a cart strap wouldn't block us from getting into them - that should add any weight per se.

i think an ultra lightweight carry bag can be designed to be feature rich, cart friendly for when we HAVE to take the dreaded carts, and still be lightweight.  I just don't think any manufacturer has cared enough to put in the effort, and truth be told, they probably won't unless there is decent demand.

I agree with a light weight carry bag that is cart friendly.  Many carry bags are unstable when strapped into the cart.

Has anyone seen the 2015 catalog?  I received a notice from Edwin Watts that the new ones are in but they don't provide details.

I'm looking for pics, colors and features.

Some great ideas there.  I wonder why you couldn't make 14 way lightweight cart stand bag? And can anyone tell me if the staff stand bag will change for 2015?

I had the previous 2012/13 version of Titleist Lightweight Cart Bag, in black. Now I have the 2014 model, in white, red and black, which I don't like the looks of as much for some reason. I also don't like the 14-way divider layout as much as the previous version. (I am constantly searching for clubs that are there, but don't seem to be where I expect them to be, even when they are in the correct divider. Long story I won't go into.) I bought the 2014 version solely for the easy-access front pocket. I like that I can actually see down into it. It's a great place to store tees and other small accessories that are used often.

In any case, I too am looking to see what the 2015 version looks like. I'm hoping for a white version with just a little red & black trim, similar in looks to the Lightweight Staff Bag being offered at present.

Steve S. - I have the 2014 ultra lightwieght cart bag. All black. Class, class, class. I couldn't have ask for more.

Unless it was full of Titleist clubs. But it is full of pro-v's. When I wear it out, I'll buy a new one, hopefully with the

clubs to go with it. You all have good taste. Thanks for listening,

    Steve S.

Hey Steve S. This is the other Steve S. From N.J. I couldn't agree more. I have an all black cart bag. It just says class. There is nothing I would change on it. Except a full set of Titleist irons and Vokey wedges. And lets not forget a Scotty too. It has a full pocket of Pro Vs, but other then a 915 D2 driver and the 915 F 3 wood, and one 54 degree Vokey, thats where the wallet got thin. Better than nothing. I'm a Titleist man forever!

    Play Well,

I've found 14 divider bags limit you when going to the range with extra clubs for testing. The dividers add weight that can be better utilized in other ways. An insulated beverage pocket adds unnecessary weight. You are asking too much for a liteweight carry bag. Most of the so-called 3.5 or ultralite bags are over 4 lbs.

If you want all that, just get a pull cart and a cart bag.

I use a 4 lb bag for a cart and range, and am looking for a 3 lb, 8.5 inch top with 4 dividers for a lite carry. All I ask for are double zippers, a beverage holder, a main pocket, valuables, waterproof pocket, one accessory pocket, ball pocket and a rangefinder pocket. Almost like the 3.5. Something like the Front Nine but lighter in weight.

  13. 5 well and truly valid points Tom and would love to see some of these features incorporated into Titleist bags. But 6 onwards?.. Cards and pencils go in your pocket and "ball silos" and tee holders are pointless and gimmicky and definitely not required.

When did the 2015 bags end up coming out? I am wanting to get one for 2016 because my bag needs replacing.
