First, i have to say 2014 has been a great year for me and I thank Team Titleist for that.  Had a lot of fun meeting some great people this year.  Looking forward to 2015.

Now the best shot..  God knows i don't make many but if i do it's mostly a chip shot or a putt.  So I'm going with a chip shot that I made at TPC Boston during the TT invitational to keep me alive in the match play.  I'm on the 16th hole, Par 3 and i'm going against Mike D.  I ask him how much i'm down by and i hear "dormie".  Great..   Mike tees off first and splash.  I'll admit i had a smile on my face and this was a perfect opportunity to keep the match going.  I tee it up, hit it and i'm thinking it's on the green..  Nope, short and right before the rock wall that's in front of the green but still playable...  Get to my ball and i'm about 1 to 2 feet away from the wall.  Grabbed my new SM5 60 degree Vokey...   Set up, look up and swing..  Perfect flop up and over the wall and onto the green.  2 putt for bogey and  the match continues onto 17 where I had another great shot but 16 was better.. 

I did lose the match on 18...  Mike played very well that day...

   This wasn't in a tournament, and it might not have even been the very best shot of the year, but it was definitely a "smile and walk to the next tee" one...

   We were just playing one of our usual during the week rounds, and it wasn't too crowded, but when we got to the 4th hole, a 200+ yd par 3, there was a group of three on the green, and they waved us to play though. We all hit, and my ProV1 was in the right bunker, with a pretty ugly semi-plugged lie. When we got up to the green, the two guys and a lady were still waiting for us to play through, and were standing behind the bunker, and one of them even commented on how ugly the lie looked. Well, you've probably guessed by now that the shot from that lie went up pretty high, dropped, and rolled into the cup.

    I guess when you trust your ProV and your Vokey sand wedge, it's never a problem taking advantage of an offer to play through with a small semi-audience....!

My best shot was hit playing a round with my son.  My game has been a struggle all year, going through lessons, and making a number of swing adjustments.  I was on a 140 yard par 3 on my local course.  I hit a 3/4 9 iron (712 AP1) since the wind was helping a little.  With the pin up front and a bit of a backboard behind, I aimed at that point, hoping that the ball may kick back a little. 

The ball went high and long, just as I wanted, hit into the ridge and kicked back a couple of feet to about 5 feet from the cup.  I could tell when I hit it it was pure and the line it was on I had a fleeting thought of it being my first hole in one.  I rolled in the birdie putt with my Pro V1x. 

The best shot is hard to say I can say I had my lowest round ever this year 65 with the use of one ball Titleist Pro V 1X( AP2's vokey wedges and scotty putter )I normally change every four holes or so but I was playing so well I decided not to change. Now I think the best shot under pressure was this past Wednesday playing a normal round and had 2 doubles the 1 st nine holes to end up 2 over par and down in all  the bets. I was even  going into 18 and had 3 players press me for the back and the total. I hit  a monster drive down the middle and left me 207 yards out over water 196 front edge 207 pin 214 back but a chance to be home in 2. I knew 3 wood was way to much but didn't think 3 iron was enough dew to cold temps. So I decided 3 iron and go for the gusto I hit it perfect  it landed about 15 feet short rolled pin high 15 feet right. I wish I could say i made the eagle put but i didn't. luckily a 2 putt birdie was enough to win and also enough to win all the presses. I can say that every time I hit the Titleist Pro V 1X perfectly it does exactly what I am thinking it will do. To me that is just as important as hit it perfect and I will never change from the Titleist Pro V1X. I am a lifer 

Well my best shot was actually a best hole. It was the hardest hole on the course. I hit driver (913d3) best drive of the year. Then when I got to ball I had a 9 iron (714 ap2) to 2 feet. It was easily the best hole I've played this year. Yes a birdie the hole. 

My best shot of the year is one I will remember for a number of reasons. 214 yard par 3, in a tournament. I had a 4 iron in my hand. I hit it pretty flush and it was just left of the flag. I was starring it down, but then when it landed about 20 yards over the green, I was shocked/confused. The conditions didnt correlate to why I would fly a 4 iron that far. I got up to the area, and myself nor my competitors could find the ball. After the allotted time, I had to run back to the tee, with the next group already there, it wasnt a fun feeling. I took a 5 iron with me this time, was a little out of breather, teed it up, tried to go through my normal routine, although a little rushed. Once again almost the same shot, flushed it just left of the flag stick, this time it was fading in. Once I knew it looked good, I started running back to the green to save time. Then I heard the players near the green erupt and I heard it hit what I thought was the flagstick, but when I stopped short of the green, looked up, still couldn't see the hole but they were pointing downward saying it went in. I couldnt believe it till I got back up to the green and saw the ball in the hole. It was pretty surreal since I didnt see it, and it was a hole in one par and I was little winded and the embarrassment of needing to go back to the tee. There is an amount of luck involved to a hole in one, and I might have hit better shots throughout the year, but this one will stick out for a while.

I'm not sure this would be called my best shot, but it does show how the feel of the Titleist Pro V1 around and on the green can boost my confidence.

I was playing in a Match Play Tournament (AS) and my approach shot ended up in the left green-side bunker.  The ball was about a foot from the back edge, and about 2 feet below the grass where I had to take my stance.  I looked down at the ball and could clearly read the Titleist Logo.  I opened my SW and swung with confidence.  The ball flew out of the bunker, and in true Pro V1 form, checked up on the green.  Unfortunately, the ball was still about 20 feet from the cup.  I was so pumped that I got on the green, I walked up to my ball, cleaned it off - lined it up and made my read, then proceeded to putt the ball dead center of the hole to save par.  That kept us AS and allowed me to stay alive.

There are so many reasons I love the Pro V1, all the reasons put together give me the confidence to know I can depend on the golf ball to make the shot .

It's actually two shots about five months separated. Early in the year on my home course, somewhere mid summer on Hole # 11 a 147 yard par three using a ProV1X I got my third ace of my career using an AP1 7-iron. Then during a charity scramble on a very cold day, 36* on November 15 with the wind blowing into my face at about 30 MPH same course same hole this time using my AP1 5-iron at the same distance I hit the flag pole about 12 inches high ball fell straight in cup only to bounce out and settle down three inches from the cup. Nice easy Birdie and a prize winning CTP, but so close to ace number four. Both times I was hitting a Prov1x. Love My Titleist equipment, my game has greatly elevated since switching to Titleist.

As far as the golf ball, easy - the Pro V1x is my friend.

But the shot?

First round of the club championship, par 3, 165 yards, I hit the base of the stick, damaged the hole, but my shot rested 6 inches away.  I've never had an ace, this one was close.

Late November:  I have two friends, diagnosed weeks apart with stage 4, terminal cancer.  A warm day, a few phone calls, and I was fortunate enough to play what we all fear may be that last round.  How can you call any shot that day anything but the greatest shot.  Nothing Mr. Ouimet did exceeded the shots we shared that warm Monday afternoon.

Back to the question for me:.  The last money event in our men's club.  With a small cushion, I'm the leading money winner (pro shop credit),  which translates to player of the year.  The final event is ten men, 9 holes, sudden death.  Each hole, someone is eliminated, the last 4 standing cash out.  Well, three holes in, I miss a putt, but when I step up to address the tap in, the ball moves ever so slightly.  Thousandths of an inch.  Not an oscillation, but a slight roll.  The logo moved from here to there.  No one saw it but me, but I call over the club pro and explain what happened.  I take my penalty, replace the ball, hole my putt and I'm eliminated.  As a result, my fate in the POY standings is no longer in my hands.   Fortunately for me, good fortune prevails in my favor, as the only competitor remaining who can pass me bows out of the money.  While it may not show up on SportsCenter, the only stroke that I recorded on my card this year that I didn't lose sleep over was that penalty I called on myself.  My best shot of the year, NO WAY JOSE!  But the one I'm most proud of, ABSOLUTELY!

2014 was a great year filled with memorable shots .  Almost hole in ones, chip ins, sandy's… but the most memorable shot came at the TT invitational at TPC Boston on the 17 hole.    I've been dreaming of playing that course for years.  I love going to the Deutsche Bank and watching the Fedex Cup event but being inside the ropes and on the course was fantastic.  

I was recovering from a hernia surgery just three week prior to the TT event and hadn't pick up a club until the first tee.  Every swing was painful but the joy of playing at TPC Boston with some great TT members and Titleist staff  made it all worth while.  I've thought about the approach shot into the 17 green a thousand times , so when I flushed my 8 iron with a baby draw and saw it tracking right at the pin it turned fantasy into reality.  I still think about that shot sometimes as I'm falling asleep at night.  As for the ball, well it was one of this years "TEST" balls, so I may never know what it was. But it's GREAT !

If I could pick one shot that didn't belong to me, it would be Titleist staff member Bubba's shot from the same day on the drivable par 4 fourth hole where he holed out from the tee.  Technically it was a birdie since it was his second shot, but it was the best shot I've seen in person. truly awesome Bubba !  I almost felt bad getting a birdie and halving the hole with him.

2014 WAS A STRUGGLE FOR ME... Changed to Titleist clubs...got fitted for them....Went from TM woods and irons to ALL Titleist. Handicap went up to almost 10 ....currently back done to a 5.6 Index. Struggled with my swing and confidence wet to heck BUT While playing I a KGA event I hit a PROV1 to a inch on the number 3 handicap hole and won a Net skin for a birdie net eagle. The hole was tucked just over a bunker , water in front and big downhill slope just past the hole. Hit a 155 yard shot the hit hopped once and stopped dead for a gimme. Best shot of the year in Competition ...Thanks Titleist !

As the honorable first TT Spotlight Member I have had the honor of participating in the past two TT events in San Diego. While I did get my butt handed to me by Vern the first year. My partner Brent W. and I gladly returned the favor to two of TT VIPs Mike D. and Joe H. during our match this year. While my overall score did not reflect it, the four birdies I made helped ensure me that if I submit a 7-handicap for any future events I may get laughed off the course. The sun was definitely shining on my backside that day. All the TT members and staff present that day were truly top notch. Like you Vern the TT event is one of the true highlists of my year. Great Idea ,  My shot of the year  was  caused by added length picked up by the new Pro V1X and the spin provided.

Hole #3, Jones course , Lyman Orchards, Middlefield ,CT  I hit 3 wood off the tee , being my first time using the new ball it gave me  an added 10 yards which carried me into the right fairway bunker.

In the past my 3 wood left me short of that bunker , now using the new Prov1X   I can carry that same bunker with my driver.

From the fairway bunker I hit an 8 iron over a tree to a green 138 yards away, it actually spun back a little to less than a foot way from the hole.

Absolutely my shot  best of 2014.

I have great confidence in the added distance and the ability of the ball to perform as you hope it would.

I can not pick one shot of the year as my best. It came as two of my best, making it my best hole of the year. It was at Wollaston Golf Club, Milton, MA. 5th hole, short par 5 dog leg left.  I was playing with a client/friend. I was able to crush my drive (913 D2) with a perfect draw, around the corner, leaving me a full pitching wedge (Vokey 46*) to a front center pin. I stuck my second shot two feet from the pin and finished the hole putting (Newport 2 w/ Red Baby T grip) my personalized Pro V1x (#41, JEC2 stamped) for an eagle. 

I've played that course a bunch as a guest and my client was blown away! What a great feeling.

I had my first two hole-outs for eagle on par-4s this summer, both at Atkinson CC in New Hampshire, but one stood out.

On the 9th hole, which happens to be my nemesis, I drove it right, right of the cart path, too close to the trees for a clear shot over them. Front pin (see red flag below). I took out my 8-iron, shut the face and hit a high hook up & around the trees. Landed it short, two bounces and clunk! Crazy!

On a cool windy day in November at Heron Point Golf Club (Pete Dye course), Hilton Head Island, SC, I hit my Titleist 913f 5 wood 185 yds up hill to a back right corner pin over the flag and landed on the back edge of the green. I was using a Titleist DT SoLo ball. For me, it was thing of beauty.

I enjoy all my Titleist gear!

My story is a bit different.  My Pro V1 did not go into the hole, from anywhere.  During a recent group outing, I was pressing a bit to try to catch up on the net score on a somewhat short par 4 with a hard dogleg left.  I pull hooked my tee shot into the left corner, behind some trees and possibly in the adjacent hazard.  I hit a provisional, just in case, so I would not have to go back to the tee to start over.  The provisional was in the right center of the fairway, with a clear view of the green and the front pin.  We never did find the first tee shot, so I played on with the provisional.  I tried to hit a soft 7 from about 139, but left it right all the way.  It came down pin high in the upper edge of the (very deep) bunker right of the green.  The ball was about five inches from the edge of the bunker, just under the overhanging edge, and buried almost completely.  I climbed up the sand and dug my feet in, took a mighty swing with my Vokey SM4 58/6 wide open, and almost fell on my posterior.  The ball, however, actually popped out of bunker and landed on the fringe just off the green.  Wish I could say I then got the ball into the hole for the 6, but I had to settle for the 7.  Still, a very rewarding outcome for a shot I was expecting to simply come back down to the bottom of the bunker.

I play in a men's league every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Being 68 I play from the men's senior tees.   I am not that particularly long with my irons but ocassionally I consider myself lucky.  I am a Titleist loyalist and play Prov1s and my irons of choice are 714 AP2s and my woods were a mixture of 910s and 913s the time of this occurance.  On this particular day we came into the back nine and I took out my 910D3 and hit a rather good drive on number 10, which is a straight par five.  Taking out a seven iron I hit which felt like a good shot.   I hit it left of the pin short of the green by a few inches.  I took out my trusty 50* Vokey wedge, which is my go to club around the green and hit a sweet chip and into the cup for an eagle.  What a way to start the back nine.  We moved along picking up a birdie along the way and we came to #15 which is the other par five.   I took out my 910D3 and hit what I felt like was a great drive on a slight dog leg right, but ended up being in the right rough, swamp side of the fairway.  Local rule allows for lift clean and place on this particular hole due to the tides coming in during high tides.  Took out a six iron and hit a high cut over century old live oak trees to about twelve feet from the flag.  A eagle putt.  The opportunity for two in one round on the same side.  Line it up and bring out the Scotty Cameron and hit the Prov1 #4 perfectly and where in the heck did that break come from?  I play there four days a week.  Missed by a half inch on the amateur side.  Well I guess one of two is not too bad.   And yes, I made the birdie putt.  Have been back since and have eagled that same hole since.  That is the thing about golf, you keep coming back.  Thanks Titleist for great equipment and golf balls.  I'd rather be driving a Titleist!   

I put my second shot on #6 at Mystic Rock in the deep pot bunker in front of the green.  The square footage of the sand is about the same as a dining room table.  My playing partners laughed at my misfortune.  I was on the left edge and had to stand outside the trap and squat down for the shot.  Somehow, I blasted my Pro V1x over 10 feet in the air, with inches to spare, and ended up right next to the hole.

Had a pretty good 2014 season playing local Team Titleist events in Ohio, Connecticut, and Massachusetts where I met some great friends and played some challenging courses.

When not travelling I play a little 9 holer daily, anywhere from 9 to 36 holes a day.  The fairways are about 50 wide with thick rough along the way.  Greens are 1950's small.  No bunkers on the course.  Water is in play for five holes.  Spring brought high water in the Ohio River and the course had been flooded several times so the course was soft for May.  My front 9 this day was good, was hitting wedges well and had hit GIR on all 7, played to +2 for the front with a bogey on each of the two par threes.  Played the front with a Pro V1 which had been in play for a couple weeks and decided to play the inbound with a new Pro V1x.  Two of my playing partners showed up to play along for my back 9, the fourth called in sick.  These guy's are good golfers and generally we don't try to affect someones game to much, but if someone starts with the chatter, then there's no limits and I can work those guy's over real easy.

Number 1 or 9 is a 400 yard par 4 with OB right.  I hit first and connected with my 913 and put the ball center fairway with 150 to center of green.  Ball sitting up nicely.  My partners both flubbed off the tee and were going overboard with the mind game, usually this doesn't start on number 1, then both sliced second shots with fairway woods going OB, but I wanted a birdie on this hole and was able to ignore those guy's.  For the approach shot, it is 5 paces to the right of the green and you are OB.  Right behind the green is the river.  The green is the shallowest on the course.  Playing left there is thick rough.  Hit short and there is soft ground from all of the flooding, a mud ball, maybe buried if you hit short.  Took out the 8 iron which I hit pretty straight, it usually hits and stops within a foot or two.  At first I thought I had somehow gotten under it too much as the Pro V1x appeared to be going higher than normal.  Then I realized that it was gonna hit right about the cup.  It hit about a foot short, bounced and hit the stick low and the ball came to rest right on the lip, no Eagle but that was my best shot of 2014 and by far the most exciting.  Those two so-called partners of mine are still giving me a good ribbing about that lucky shot on 1, I just keep reminding them how much I like spending their money.

The best shot of the year had to happen in a Junior Ameatuer Tournament that I played in,

I was Approaching the last hole just hoping to par the hole. Mr drive was perfect straight down the fairway, setting up for a easy shot onto the green. Unfourtnally, I hit the green but my ball had to much speed that it went into the backside bunker. I took my sand wadge and hit the best sand shot of my life, having it roll into the hole like that was the balls job. I placed within the top 15 and set a new personal best score.

My best shot this year was on hole # 3 at Twin Hills in Specerport, NY.  I had a few hours to burn between classes and it was gorgeous outside, what else to do but go play golf!  Hole # 3 is a par 3 and that day was playing about 147 from the blues.  The hole is setup down hill with a front pin placement.  From the tee box it is blind and i had to jump to see the top of the flag.  I decided to hit a nice easy pitching wedge and when it took off it felt great and was going straight for, what i thought was the pin.  I picked up my bag and began to walk down the hill waiting patiently for my ball to come in to view.  It ended up being pin high about a inch to the left of the cup and stuck there.  Tap in for bird, but so close to a ACE!  The guys on the next tee box were more excited than i was!  Yes i was happy it was close but i want that ACE!  I was actually playing one of the Titleist Test balls that I fortunate enough to receive from TT.

2014 was a great year for golf.  It was not not as good as last year, but all in all it was a very good year.  The best shot for me was the entire second day of the State Senior Am.  Shot myself out of contention the first day (so I thought) and the second day was almost magical.  The final approach shot from the fairway bunker (150 yards out) to within three feet of the cup, and the birdie putt that dropped and secured the tournament was emotional to say the very least.  I still live that day, with a smile on my face and the conviction that not only did I play my very best....But the reward was playing the Titleist Brand that I have done for oh so many, many years.  Through all the bag tags, shirts, bags, and all the great items I have been given throughout my association with this fine organization, it's the clubs, the refinements, the practice, and the effort that are at the very core of success.  To hit a great shot, even the best shot, requires a commitment from the competitior and the manufacture...To me, this becomes the best golf shot!!!

well there were alot of good shots this year in 2014. the one that comes to mind is chipping in for birdies from the green side.  I was playing at madera golf course and was short about 65 yards to the cup.  I had my 58 degree volkey SM4 wedge in my hand and playing the prov1x golf ball. I hit what was a good chip and one bounce onto the green and into the cup, making birdie.  That is not it, I am at the same distance three holes later and about the same distance when I chip it again and into the cup for par save, so two chip ins from decent lies and distances. I could not ask for more from a great ball that I just changed to this year from the prov1.  Great ball Titleist.

Bubba, how about the near double eagle from 175 yards with a five iron (AP2) at madieras CC during the Team Titleist outing. That was another great shot for a kick in birdie.  I love my irons.

That was an awesome shot, Manny! I honestly do not know how it didn't go in.
