    I remember when I played pebble beach in the 1970s for $50.00 spyglass hill was a little less.

    I remember the gas crisis in '74 with the crisis that gas pumps could only go to 99.9 cents, but $50 then is pretty close to the $500 price now. But the best way to get on back then probably didn't cost $250 for 2 nights and 2 rounds of golf.

    When I was stationed at Bragg in the 80's, I played Pinehurst #2 over 100 times, for $21+ tax.........So I spent what it would take to play it 4-5 times

    Golf shoes had flaps and metal spikes. Thin hit shots put a smile on your ball.
