Last Friday I was staring breaking 80 right in the eye. A 40 on the front, then 5 straight pars on the back. Then, you guessed it, double bogey, par, double and double for a 42. Needless to say, my post round drink was an Alka-Seltzer.

Still not too bad with all the heat we are dealing with. Brutal heat indexes right now.

Do you always know exactly where you are scoring-wise? I prefer to not know and just try to concentrate on the next shot and not worry about how many until I add it up in the parking lot. But then again I've never come close to breaking 80!!!

Normally I don't keep tract but when the pars started to pile up on the back, I figured something was happening.

Been listening to a lot of golf audiobooks lately. Zen Golf has helped me a ton with the mental side of things.

I laugh now, but I do know exactly what you mean. And yes, the heartbreak that I've had in more days than not. But.... it never fails, I get up in the morning even earlier than the last, and I take my gear back on the course in search of that illusive (number) we all want to break.

You are close, and so that means it could happen any day now. :-)
