The U.S. Open is here! As the world’s best take on one of golf’s biggest stages, we want to know: What’s your go-to swing thought during high-pressure moments?

  2. Grip and forearm pressure. 4/10. If I keep the tension out through the entirety of the swing, the results typically won’t put me in positions that are penalized.

LOL. What I should be thinking or what I do end up thinking?

Hit it.. And Let it Go!

Focus on the target and trust what got you there (assuming you're on the fairway )

I think about delivering the back of my lead hand to the target at impact. Sometimes it leads to a hook, but it's much more controllable than the wide open club face and banana slice.

The less I think the better I hit it. Hahaha

My mind is really just all over the place. I'll try to tell myself something and then it's "ooh squirrel". Then I lose focus and usually the swing just feels terrible. Since I seem to have an issue with finishing my swing, I'm trying to tell myself to get through the ball. Like Russell Henley said in the video with NLU.

    Stay smooth, make good contact.

Most likely it would be a bad thought, like don't hook it into the water. But I usually try to focus on my tempo as I have a bad habit of getting quick in those moments.
  11. My go to thought is where am I focusing on contacting the ball, ball first, etc.

I only have swing thoughts when I'm struggling with something. And even under pressure, I get better results when I'm thinking about the shot, not the swing. Picking a target, shot shape, or the yardage for approach shots will be my final thoughts
  13. Breathe, don't rush. Don't swing until you have the picture of the shot you are going to make.

Try not to think, but if I do it’s about the takeaway. That set everything up along with tempo for me.

I voted "Get all the way through the ball" but more correctly I am focused on getting to my finish position - which effectively forces the same behavior. Seems to help me out ....

Not to sound too cliche, but aim small miss small. I have a tendency where the ball is my focal point which leads to inconsistency. But if I pic a specific dimple or mark on the ball, it seems to take care of a lot of other stuff. Secondary, is keep the club head in front of me.
