I’ll start: Mine is getting a set of 712 AP2 irons my freshman year of high school. I used them throughout my high school career, and it made me fall in love with the brand! I’ll never forget hitting the flagstick on the 8th hole from 150 yards at Green Hill Municipal with my 9 iron; the ball dropped right on the lip of the cup. To this day, it’s the best shot I’ve ever hit.

Did you fall in love with a specific club based on how it performed? Did you receive some Titleist equipment as a gift from a loved one? Did a specific ball or club change your game and make you a believer in Titleist equipment?

    Let us hear about it!

Mine was buying a used set of rental clubs from my local club. The set had a 917 driver and 3 wood, 818 hybrid, 718 AP2 irons, 52 & 56 Vokey SM7 wedges and a Scotty Cameron Roundback putter. I had previously been playing Cleveland and srxn, but once I started playing that Titleist set, I was hooked. That was in 2019 and lots of Titleist equipment, bucket list courses and new friends later, I still feel the same way. Titleist makes the best equipment and Team Titleist is life.

My first Titleist club was a 975D driver. Good enough for Tiger good enough for me. Haha. First set of irons were DCI 981. Wish I still had them. Do still have a 975J driver in the basement.

My introduction was when I won a set of DCI gold irons back in the 90s for winning my flight at an invitatiional golf tournament. Between then and I was wondering in the wilderness looking for a miracle club. Tried them all. Sometime in 2009 a buddy of mine suggested I try d the original AP2s. Really like the feel and performance and bought them from him. Added extenders on the shafts and had the lofts set by my fitter. Bought a 910 driver and three wood. The rest is history. Have been playing them since. dHave been going to a fitter and upgraded when we felt it was necessary, meaning we found improvement. Currently play GT2D 10.758, GT2F 14.258, TSR1F 18*, TSR3H 21*, GT3 24*, T350 (6-48W), SM9 52.08F, 56.10S. Took me a while but I finally got all dialed in with the help of a good fitter and travelig thru the wilderness.

Taking up golf at 59, I won a dozen NXT balls at a scramble. Loved that as my wild swing (self taught) would send a found Pro-V deeper into the woods.
At that age and LH, there was no rack set of clubs that matched me. So in 2011 looked up Cobra fitters in the phone book (remember them?). Got an appointment at what is Steve Stricker’s home course. Didn’t know who he was, either. On arriving, found that Acushnet had recently sold off Cobra. Ended up with 712 AP-1 irons They looked more like a club than the G10 irons and were equal in the fitting. Rest, as they say, is history.

My 1st Titleist was a 907D1 purchased used. Up to that point, I was wild with driving so much so that I would regularly hit a hybrid, or driving iron, from the tee. The 907D1 restored my confidence in driving the ball. I have since upgraded to a full Titleist bag with a 917D2 (still my gamer) TSR2 15*, 716 AP2s 3-P, Vokey SM10 Wedges (52, 56, and 60), and a Phantom 7 Scotty. Plenty of room for upgrades when that time comes but I'm quite happy with the older generations that I'm currently using.

I didn't start playing golf until I was in my early 30's. I went through a few sets of irons before buying my first set of Titleist irons. In 2006 I purchased 755 irons.

I have not played any other brand of iron since.

I was updating my set of png irons when the fitter made me tried some AP2 718s irons. I was hooked from the first swing. Started noticing the higher quality on the other gear. Never looked back. Started migrating my driver and other clubs.

Toss up between the 716 AP2s - had restarted golf a few years earlier and fell in love with the feel and consistency of these irons - and the SM7 Vokey wedges - had been playing a couple of 'off the shelf' SM6s but getting properly fit for my swing vs local turf conditions was really eye-opening.

Have been playing Titleist ever since!
  11. My grandma had a Titleist bullseye putter, and she got the first tiger shark grip on it. She made everything with that putter. Now she has passed away, and that putter with the same original grip sits in my putter rack in my office with my other favorite Scotty's.

Well I was playing Titleist balata golf balls in the early 80’s when a friend, an assistant club pro gave me his old set of Tour Blades. He then ordered me my first set of the original DCI’s and PT driver and 3 metal. I’ve been playing Titleist clubs ever since.

LOL, when I first started some 25 yrs ago and finding a Titleist golf ball and playing it the rest of your round instead of the topflight 2000! As far as clubs it would be in the 2023 model T200s. Love them. Don't see me playing any irons other than Titleist!

Way back in my early days, my wife purchased me a Christmas gift of Titleist Tour Models circa 1978 (2-PW cost 199.00 full set) and that started my Titleist brand affair. Then I purchased a Titleist Driver that was WOOD (remember those) that has a aluminum type insert. Also repped a Titleist leather bag. Always played Titleist balls.. Havent looked back since
