Wow where to start, the wait is finally over, the GTS is here!

On Thursday I was very lucky to get my GTS driver and 3 wood fitting at Craigielaw Titleist Scotland with Graeme Noblett. If you haven’t been, it really is a must for any Titleist enthusiast/ player or gamer. Big G goes above and beyond giving you the best experience and helping you get the most out of your time there with all the Titleist clubs.

Big G starts with what do you know about GTS?? I say I’ve watched a few videos and clips from the Titleist page/forum. He pulls out a metal box, opens it up and shows me the new GTS in two half’s, we then talk about the changes from GT and what R&D have done to make the GTS, how they have changed design, materials and new upgraded specs, split mass, speed sync face and duel weights, etc. It’s all very technical and interesting.

Next up was hitting a few shots with my current GT2 driver set up after a good warm up. Couple of good shots, couple of not so good shots, but more than enough to get a good base to start. So first up we start with the GTS4 same set up as my GT2 on my current Hzrdus black x stiff shaft. 10 shots or so and results are in, no real improvement over my current set up. Big G then changes the head over to GTS3. Same again 10 shots or so and we have enough to compare data. GTS3 was slightly better but still not good enough to consider swapping/ upgrading. Then Big G says it’s time for the main event haha He swaps the GTS2 head on and gives me the club back, after a couple of shots, I start seeing even more improvement, further and tighter dispersion. Big G takes the club back again and start tweaking / changing stuff, not telling me what yet. I hit a few more shots and wow, I’m seeing faster ball speed swing speed, higher ball flight, less spin numbers, everything working and helping my swing. Once again Big G makes another wee change to the club and hand me it back. Once again I hit a few more balls and wow I’m blown away with the shots! Big G says I’ve been fitting you for a number of years Douglas and I can safely say this is the best I’ve seen you hit driver! I speechless nod my head laugh and say this is coming home with me now lol

We then go through the whole process again with the 3 wood and get the same results. Safe to say R&D Titleist have went above and beyond and delivered an unbelievable club ready for all golfers to produce big bombs! Hope everyone has an amazing time/ fitting as well. GTS get in my bag! ️‍♂️

I had the pleasure of visiting St Ives yesterday for a GTS fitting with Andrew. Last fitting of a long day by all accounts, with lots of excited people to try the new clubs.

The changes in technology while not revolutionary are incrementally better than GT and for people who haven't had a fitting in a few cycles I can see this will be a massive improvement.

We started with a baseline of data from the existing GT lineup, which has made it through the 2 year cycle without change. Numbers were good, and generally near optimal. The conversation turned quickly to how I felt GTS could help me and we established a look at the miss shots rather than chasing distance.

GT3 for me has been great but we found a better pattern on the clubface when moving from A1 to D1. It moved strike ever so slightly higher on the face. The net result was a drop in loft from 10 to 9 degrees which gave a far tighter spin variation on shots. As a result the dispersion came in to a far smaller circle on trackman. Secondly we played with the backweight ont he GTS3 and this is also helped keeping results more stable. No shaft changes were needed and it will be a case of plug and play with my current Tour ADUB6x.

3 wood was very much the same pattern, however the current GT3 is optimal so we left this alone.

Spare time at the end of the fitting allowed us to take a look into a 5 wood option. Currently have a T200 3 iron which is used day to day but its fitted to keep flight down and run. The GTS3 5 wood will allow higher flighted shots while still hitting the same carry window. This will be a great switch out option on more parkland based courses over the season.

Finished with a lovely little presentation box gift containing a new GTS alignment stick cover, ball marker and some tees... a very nice unexpected bonus!

Great experience all around and lots of fun as well.

I cant wait to hear other results from fittings.

    Orders to be placed shortly!
  3. Not long swapped to a gt3 so not going to get fitter anytime in the too near future but definitely going to book myself in down craigielaw. Never been and considering it’s only 30/40 mins down the road I really should

Had my fitting today down at the Belfry, great fitting with Tom.

The difference between my GT3 and the GTS2 was night and day, the GTS3 just wasn’t quite right for me. But with the GTS2 and a heavier shaft, the strike location and dispersion difference were amazing.

Order will be placed very soon.

Unfortunately I didn’t get the presentation box/gift that I’ve heard of other TT members being presented with. Guess it just wasn’t my lucky day.

  5. Had my fitting this week with Andrew at St Ives and what a nice friendly chap he was.

I went in to get fit for irons and he was asking me questions like what I like about my current irons and if there was anything about my game that I particularly didn’t like. As I said to Andrew, I wasn’t really interested in extra distance as I do really like my original T100s from 2019 but just want the confidence that the extra tech could help.

I have aged a tad since 2019 but was still getting decent speed, numbers and strike but mine were spinning and a tad high ball flight, so I tried a number of options and he showed me the difference between all the newer models such as the T100 the T100s as well as hitting the CBs with different shafts options.

I was eventually fitted into a set of T100 irons with the same shaft I’ve had since my AP2s the dynamic gold S300 standard loft but my lie angle has changed to 1 degree up to straighten up my draw a touch.

With that all locked Andrew asked if I wanted to hit the new driver! I was excited at this point as I wasn’t expecting to be able to do it and had booked in at Leicester golf centre for a fitting at the end of June!

I Currently play a TSr2, so I hit a few drives and away we went with the fitting.

Once he had the bench mark for my current driver we tried numerous options with the GTs2 with my current shaft but the spin wasn’t quite right and dispersion was a bit off.

Then we went on to the GTs 3 and wow! What a difference.

All my numbers were right but Andrew said he wanted me to try a different shaft which just tightened up the dispersion and the distance was still there but once I started to find the middle of the face the ball just flew. Even off slight miss hits the distance and disperstion was still there which I was so surprised at!

So I was fit into the GTs3 with a tour AD DI-5 shaft with the sure fit settings 4 track/9back with on a B-3 setting.

All in all such a great experience with Andrew such a knowledgeable guy and easy to chat to. And felt relaxed from the moment I walked in.

He also gave me a GTS gift box which I wasn’t expecting either, so I just want to say thanks so much!!

I’m lucky that Aaron Rai made me a couple of quid in the PGA championship last week as irons have been ordered and GTs I have a feeling will be on the way very soon after.

    Thanks again Andrew ️‍♂️
