In all seriousness though do you get worried in the sand or do you grab a parasol and throw a towel down

  2. I played with a junior at my old course this summer. You knew immediately that he had been well trained by the club pro on how to handle sand shots. It was fun to watch. No fear, go in, knock it close. As for me, as long as I am not buried, I don't mind playing out of the sand at all. I keep track of my sand saves, and I hoover around 50%. However, that being said, the toughest shot for me is the 50 yard bunker shot. Ones around the green that have very little carry, I will use my 60 degree, longer ones I use my 56. 50 yards out or, I will use my PW or a 9iron.

How did you get your wedge stamped?
  4. I got mine from golf support. They get it stamped for a bit extra.

I love the Beach Party stamp, might take some inspiration from that when I get around to stamping mine

I feel relatively comfortable in the sand. Many years ago, I was playing a course that had strategically placed bunkers and I was uncomfortable getting out of them. I read everything I could get my hands on by Billy Casper and Gary Player on bunker play, then went to the course, found one of the harder bunkers, and learned how to play various shots. Tremendous difference. I may not get up and down as often as I would like, but that relates more to my putting than getting the ball out of a bunker. Like BMaddigan, the longer bunker shots are the real challenge. I've adjusted by changing the club with which I hit the shot, getting gradually up the irons as the distance to the pin increases. Seems to work for me.
