  1. When do you guys get new wedges with how much you practice and play. I got an SM7 about 2 years ago and practice almost every day. Should I get new wedges or keep them for longer?

If the face/grooves are worn then might be time to replace. Are you getting less spin?

Depends on how much you use them. I play about 50 to 60 rounds a year, and replace about every 2 years and keep the older ones for practice in the yard or donate them to other golfers or golf programs to use. My problem is I like to have a selection to choose from depending on where and how I play. There's not a room in my house that doesn't have a Titleist wedge or 2 leaning against the wall. I figure it will up the resale value if I ever leave.
  4. Depends on how much you play but if you're practicing every day, especially out of bunkers, I'd say you're probably due for some fresh ones. I play about 30 rounds a year but don't have a ton of practice time and can get about 2-3 seasons out of my Vokey's. If anything, you'll probably have a harder time adjusting to the spin on a new set. I'm sure the face milling has worn off of your 7's by now so enjoy the extra bite when you take off the wrappers!

I just got this email from Titleist today with the topic of "Groove Wear & Spin Performance". Here is the link and I suggestion watching the videos and scrolling down. They give straight forward data and information so you can make the best decision for you!
    www.vokey.com/.../spin-performance.aspx

Jordan Speith says his 60 is changed every few tournaments and other wedges every couple of months (wouldn't that be incredible!!). The data from the link above says 125 rounds is about max usage, with visible difference after 75 rounds. This is with an focus on launch angle, spin, and stopping distance.

When I finally upgrade my wedges, I might keep that first set in case I find I like/want roll out for longer approaches or need the release.

Even with your own practice balls, the wedges will show some wear after 6 months, even becoming slightly discolored as the finish wears off. I work pretty hard on my wedge game, swapping wedges out yearly, especially my 54/58.
  7. Ive had mine 4 years, look after them, keep them clean between shots and groves sharpened and they should be fine for a while

i carry a 52, 56 and 60- all only used for playing, not practice

    52 prob last 18 months
    56 gets changed usually yearly
60 sometimes yearly - depends on wear.

56 and 60 usually get churned through bunker use more than anything

when 'retired' they spend a year in the bag as practice clubs.
