Getting fit and trying different shafts with a launch monitor would be the best way to make sure your spin rates are optimal. That being said, after recently getting fit for new irons, I re-shafted my wedges with the same shafts as my irons. Should be ready today - I can update after I try them out. When I next replace my wedges, I plan on getting re-fit.

I believe the thinking is for a club used around the green a lot you want a softer flex than what you have in your irons. For a gap wedge used mostly for full swings you should match your iron shafts.

Also, I have heard about a Project X wedge flex shaft. Vokey stock shaft for wedges is the DG S200. Since you are 6.5 the S200 or equivalent might be too flexible.

At my club they have a fitting cart for Vokey wedges with the adapter to change shafts. Try to find a fitter than can do this for a wedge fitting.

I had a fitting at TPI in April, and the recommendation (for me) was to use the same shafts (AMT Red S300) in irons and Vokey wedges.

I have the PX 6.0 shafts in my irons. The PX Wedge shafts seem to be a perfect solution for wedges (softer, but consistent weight), but unfortunately Titleist doesn't seem to carry them. Anyone have any other ideas?
