Poor players get to the ball from their knees, back, and neck. Good players get to the ball from the hips. Rather than slouch to get to the ball, try this other sports analogy: pretend you’re skiing, at the top of a run. Stand tall, with your hands on your hips. Let your knees bend slightly, until they feel lively. Bend from the ball joints of your hips to get your chest out over your skis. You’re good to go.
