I use the Garmin Approach S40 and have a range finder in the bag but rarely use it. The Garmin gives distances to layups, doglegs, and hazards.

The black has a definitive different grind than the chrome. With more relief the black should work better on tight lies and clay bunkers laughingly called sand traps. Vokey makes it difficult for the casual player with up to 5 grinds for a single loft…

Check your eye position. If it is too far inside the ball it is a shaft length problem not a lie problem
