Finally made my first hole-in-one after countless close calls a month after my 65th birthday at the Flintrock Falls Golf Course in Austin, TX. Hit a 150-yard 7 iron to the slightly-elevated 6th green, so it was difficult to see the cup. Shot was tracking all the way, and I saw and heard it hit the pin. Figured I hit another close one, but one of my playing partners said she believed it went in the hole -- which in fact it did. Playing with some of my best friends which made it all the more special.

On the next par 3 hole # 12, one of the assistant pros was present and challenged me to make another hole-in-one. Given the 200-yard distance tee-to-green, I just chuckled. Hit a great 4 iron shot that stopped dead center, 3 inches short of the cup. Oh well -- another close one.
