7th on the Blue Course

I just had a triple bogey and was glad to get to the next hole. The wind was in my face, and going right to left, as I look at the 148 yard 7th hole. There is a bunker that stretches across the front of the green. I decided to take a 6 iron, as it was better to be long than short, since the back of the green had no hazards. I hit the ball and thought I had too much club right away. I saw it go straight and in the direction of the hole......but did not see it land as I lost sight of it. While approaching the hole, I noticed it was not on the green, and was bummed. I checked behind the green, and couldn't find the ball, so kept looking around. Then my golf partner, brother in law Ivan, said he heard it hit the flag stick......maybe it went in the hole. So I checked the hole........and it's in the hole! We looked at each other in disbelief......then realized what just happened.......didn't know what to do, so chest bumped while jumping. It was hard to concentrate on the next hole as the feeling lingered. At the end of the round, I received a trophy with the actual ball used, and my name was mentioned on WDOR radio's Golf Update. An incredible moment in my time.
