Won the Titleist Scramble Long Drive Contest with a DEMO 917 in the RAIN!!

I currently play a 915 D3 at 8.5* with a Kuro Kage TiNi 80x X-Flex (black chrome).. I heard about the 917 being a "shorter" driver, but more forgiving. I was very close to trying another brand to get the "length" back off the tee. THANK GOD I TRIED A 917!! Despite torrential rain, Iron Horse in Fort Worth, TX let us play the Titleist scramble this past Sunday, Sept 25, 2016. While waiting for the shotgun start, I spoke to the club pro and asked about the 917, in light of what I'd heard about the loss in distance over the 915. He told me he usually plays between 8.5* and 9.5*, but when he got fitted for the 917, they moved him to a 12*! He said "my grandma plays a 12*, get outta here!" ... until he saw the trackman numbers. 14-16 more yards of carry and WAY less spin. Well, there just happened to be a 12* DEMO driver there, and since I play a 915, I asked if he could swap out the head and I'd try it with my shaft setup.. He said "sure; but hit a few on the range and see if your "B2" hosel settings still work. I walk to the range. Tee up that first ball in the rain, and.... S M A S H !!!!! Crazy long and dead straight.. ("beginners luck" I mutter to myself..). Tee up another one... BANG!! Super-long, 15 yard draw back to the center!! W O W! I deliberately try to come over the top and hit my "bye-bye ball" slice; the ball started right, but NEVER took that hard right turn, it just pushed straight! Maybe 20 yds offline (normally I'm two fairways to the right, easy!).. I went back inside and said "THIS THING IS INSANE! It's long, the ball flight is penetrating, doesn't balloon, and it goes a freaking MILE!" So we're on a Par 5, and it's coming down like cats and dogs! (See video!) So I asked my playing partner to film a drive: (partly to demonstrate the rainy conditions, but also to see how I'm swinging..) I SMASHED the drive, a beautiful, long draw the followed the slight dogleg left perfectly! Little did we know that this particular hole was the long drive contest hole..... and I was a good 10 yds PAST the longest ball of the day (and in the worst conditions!) the video of that drive is attached! If ANYONE can attest to the prowess of the 917D2 over the 915D3 it's me!! Thank you Titleist! I can't wait to get my hands on one of these 12* 917 D2 heads.. simply INCREDIBLE..
