Like all golfers, I have acquired a certain reputation (not unwarranted) for a particular style of play. Mine is for being too aggressive and I am usually long on my approach shots (I just hate to be short). At our club, this leads to a lot of very quick downhill putts (in the winter our greens are usually 12-13 in speed). My hole in one, although looked great with a beautiful ball flight, was destined to become just another of my "nice shots" that went too long. Somehow, the flag stick got in the way and after hitting the very top of the stick the ball just dropped straight down into the cup. At first, I didn't believe it, but my playing partners (our usual group) assured me that the ball went in! So now the joke is that even my hole in one was too long!!
