From the Deutsche Bank Championship

The Deutsche Bank Championship is taking place at TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts, about 35 minutes from Acushnet Company's worldwide headquarters in Fairhaven. It is the only PGA Tour event that takes place in New England, and the the only tournament scheduled for a Friday start and Monday (Labor Day) finish. A total of 120 players are in the field this week, vying to advance to the third round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. From the Johnnie Walker Championship

This week the Eurpoean Tour hosts the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland. Most of those who have already qualified for Europe's Ryder Cup Team are on hand, as well as many who are vying for the few remaining spots that will be filled via Captain's picks. This week's tournament will serve as a preview of sorts; The Centenary Course at Gleneagles Hotel will serve as the host site for the 2014 Ryder Cup matches. Titleist brand ambassador Steve Stricker fired a second round 7-under 64 to take the 36-hole lead at The Barclays, the first event of the 2008 PGA Tour Playoffs. Strick is the defending champion at The Barclays, and he's looking for another strong finish this year to make his case for selection to the United States Ryder Cup team.
