Jim Nantz Visits Titleist's Ball Plant III

Jim Nantz

Jim Nantz in his familiar role as
anchor of CBS's golf telecasts.

For over twenty years, if you have tuned in to a golf telecast on CBS Sports, the images you've seen -- the heroic and tragic shots, the triumphs and bitter losses, and the glimpses into the timeless grace of the game, have all been framed and colored by the voice of one man - Jim Nantz. Jim has become the voice of The Masters, his words serving as lyrics that accompany the memorable melody of the Dave Loggins Masters theme song.

Jim has also teamed to call the NCAA Final Four men's basketball finals continuously since 1991 and has been The NFL on CBS's top play-by-play announcer since 2004. On April 27, 2009, Jim was given the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Personality, Play-by-Play, for his work in the 2008 calendar year. He is the first CBS Sports personality to win the award since its inception in 1993. He won the award again on April 26, 2010.

In addition to this extensive resume, Jim has also served as the unofficial voice of Titleist. For over ten years, he has narrated all our television commercials, his commanding baritone personifying the unparalleled quality and commitment to excellence that defines the Titleist brand. We were thrilled this week when Jim informed us that he would be visiting Massachusetts with his good friend, Barry Frank of IMG. Jim wanted to stop by to say hello and accepted our invitation to go on a tour of our Ball Plant III facility. A fine golfer and a lifelong Titleist loyalist, Jim was eager to finally see what goes into making the #1 Ball in golf.

One of my favorite posts!  It's great to see the men and women working behind the scenes of the #1 ball at the #3 Plant!  RC

I really like Jim Nantz's golf coverage and with such a celebrated voice in golf it is only fitting to be the voice of the number 1 ball in golf.
