The Winning Setup: Rafa Cabrera Bello at the AAM Scottish Open

Titleist Brand Ambassador Rafa Cabrera Bello (Pro V1x), who started the final round four shots behind the overnight leaders, sealed the AAM Scottish Open crown with a birdie on the first hole of a sudden death playoff.

Cabrera-Bello, relying upon new 718 MB prototype irons for the first time in competition, fired a final round course record 8-under-par 64 at Dundonald Links, in Ayrshire, Scotland to advance to extra holes at 13-under-par 275.

The win marked the third career European Tour title for the Spaniard.

In the playoff, Cabrera-Bello hit a superb approach shot into the par-five from 275 yards, and was able to two-putt to victory.

“I really felt I played some of the best golf of my life today,” Cabrera-Bello said after the victory. “I had an unbelievable Sunday, and I really went for it on the playoff.”

Titleist golf ball loyalist Matthieu Pavon (Pro V1x), who finished third at 10-under-par, and Titleist Brand Ambassador Andrew Dodt (Pro V1x), who tied for fourth, secured two of the three spots available at next week’s Open Championship based on their top finishes.

Congratulations, Rafa!

Cabrera-Bello’s victory marks the 15th for Titleist golf ball players on the 2016-17 European Tour, nearly four times the nearest competitor with 4.
