  1. Struggling mightily with my ap3 set. Lost lots of distance from old irons. Have the project x 6.0 shaft. Seems like each club goes the same distance, with my old set pw was 150. Seems like thats the distance i get from them all. Thinking about off loading.

Sorry to hear this. Did you get fitted for them or buy them off the rack?

I've been gaming my AP3s for 2 years now and absolutely love them. I did get fitted and getting the right shaft w/ the AP3 is the key to getting a solid set.

David: Find that interesting that you hit each iron the same. Same question were you fit by a Titleist certified fitter for these clubs? Even if you bought them of the shelf you should not be hitting each one the same, based on the loft of each club. Have your lofts checked, as well as the lie. They might just need an adjustment. I have hit those clubs and they are awesome and are pretty strong.
  4. Here’s the deal: I bought them brand new from a local guy. He won them at a tournament preferred his Pings. Having only paid 700 for them I got a steal
Of a deal. I am going to go get fitted this weekend with them to see if the project x shaft is for me. I can either reshaft them or trade them. I looked on eBay for some stronger shafts and you can find some good deals on them. Maybe my game just isn’t meant for a players iron. I hit my old pw 150 so I swing quick and have a fast tempo. Any suggestions???
  5. David,

I was literally ready to put the game down this last spring due to my clubs being shafted completely wrong (I still think it was an honest mistake). I was accidentally put into an extra stiff shaft even being fitted by a place here in Washington that make the Golf Digest top 100 fitters every year. I decided that I wanted to build a second complete set of clubs and started with buying a set of AP3s. I am a lefty, 5'7' 180LB, very athletic. These stock clubs right off the shelf with S300 black shafts were a god send for my game. This summer has been the best in the last 5 years and I couldn't be more excited. Compared to my miz MP54s the AP3s are light years ahead. Where I am going with this is I fully believe the problem with the Mizunos was all in the shaft. I experienced very similar problems from time to time.
  6. I bought my AP3's off the shelf (I was in a rush - long story) and they weren't fantastic at first.
Then I took them into The Golfers Club store in Johannesburg and they fitted them to me: now they work like a dream, I am loving them and my handicap is dropping as a direct result.
  7. Different story out on the course with a pro v ball. Long and straight!
