  1. As my summer holiday has been blown out of the water, I’m going to treat myself to a custom fit driver. I fancy a run up to St Ives for a fitting. Been playing with custom irons for 20 years, but always had a regulation driver. Has anyone else done this and was it worth it?

I got fitted last year and it was fantastic up until the covid lay-off......I now need to find the swing I had then and repeat it.

    Yes , yes, yes
go ahead - no pressure to buy and the feedback - options and knowledge I found was great (overall a great and interesting experience).
Once purchased your always (like all clubs) going to have good and bad days but I find having been fitted that the reassurance that the club is "right for me" is better than having that lingering doubt of whether it's the club or me when going down the standard unfit route.

    Good luck!
  4. I went the other way round...
Started with custom fitting on the woods and was so impressed, I moved on to fitted irons next time I moved up.
Never looked back and have been fitted for everything (bar the putter) ever since.
Wouldn't dream of investing without trying out the available options.
After all, there are 4 TS drivers and a huge variety of shafts/flexes to consider.

Recently took delivery of a TS3 driver and fairway after getting fitted at St Ives. Well worth the investment. I moved from the 915’s which were also fitted and got more distance, better flight and better dispersion with the new clubs. The guys at St Ives are patient and will be able to find what works best for you.
Let us know how you get on.

Playing a driver fit for me has made the biggest difference in my game. I played a 983K that I could bomb, but sometimes didn't know where it was going to go. Took advantage of a png fitting and ended up with a fairway hitting machine. The next fitting a few years later back to Titleist 915D3 had the same fairway hitting consistency, plus added distance. Those two fittings were the best thing I ever did. Guys want to be my partner for 2 ball segment of our annual grudge match with the other club in town because I hit fairways.

Go for it. You'll be happy you did.

friend at the club went over to St Ives for a full bag fitting and has been singing their praises.

I was custom fitted for my driver and was over the moon with the improvement that it made. Well worth it!

No brainer...Go to St Ives the guys there know their stuff and there's no pressure.

I was invited to go and get fit for TS range shortly after launch and we tested TS3 & 2 but the advice was to stay with my 917 as the gains in distance were minimal and I had issues with greater spin on the TS so dispersion was an issue.
I wonder how many fitters would have sold the TS2 to me on distance alone. How honest was that?

    Definitely, you’ll not regret it!!
For me it was less spin, 13 yards gain from the 917d2 ️‍♂️

Definitely go and get fit but I’m just thinking will there be a new driver released before Christmas?
  12. Declan,
Was wondering the same myself. The way that TS drivers came out - in waves, until there were four - was not the way things normally happen. Wouldn't be surprised if there were no release this autumn but equally, with market pressures and R&D cycles, it wouldn't be a shock if there is another release.

Little birdie tells me it’s already been sent to tour pros. Watch this space I suppose.

Definitely get it done! I got fitted some time ago and got a head/shaft combination that put a few extra yards on, tightened dispersion and gave me more confidence. My son is a pro and I’ve had it checked on Trackman and it still gives me optimised results.
  15. Apparently there's supposed to be some news soon on a new titleist driver.
